Sally Bertram
Sally’s ceramics are inspired by her passion for the material. She aims to create a sense of movement and physicality in her pieces and she does this by marking and drawing into soft slabs of clay that are then formed into cylinders and manipulated. This making process allows her to create unique forms with fluid contours and shadows.
Natural colours and unglazed surfaces are used to complement the form and provide a subtle tactile quality to her vessels. Her primary material is a grogged porcelain which she then blends with other clays, oxides and stains in order to create her distinct colour palette.
