Last summer, when the ideas of a global pandemic and social isolation were only a thing from films and science fiction books, our photographer Zuza visited ceramicist Jane Hollidge in her stunning modern house just outside of Cambridge.

As Strutt&Parker, a Cambridge based letting and selling agency, describes: ‘Barrington is the quintessential English village with, reputedly, the biggest village green in the country. The high street runs through the middle of the green and is flanked by a wealth of delightful period homes and cottages. Ivy Haus is a truly stunning bespoke modern house designed by Jane and her husband Peter, and built by the acclaimed German company, Huf Haus.

Jane and Peter worked closely with Peter Huf to create a beautiful home of exceptional quality, light and space which has been featured in several property magazines. Full of glass and exposed structural timbers the concept behind the property was to maximise the outlook across the garden, river and neighbouring fields and bring the occupier closer to nature. The attention to detail and superb finish is evident throughout with an emphasis on energy-efficiency.’
