We’ve had a wonderful time during our demo with ceramicist Margaret Gardiner yesterday! The artist showed us how she throws and decorates her jugs and vases. Thank you all for coming! The next event in the gallery is on 27th October - Gael Sellwood will be in the gallery between 11-4pm to talk about her work and sign her new book ‘The measure of the Year’. Don’t miss it!
RHS Gold Medalist Gael Sellwood makes highly detailed botanical watercolour paintings on vellum. She uses material from her own conservation garden as inspiration.
We are very pleased to announce that we will be launching Gael's new book 'The Measure of The Year' in the gallery. Please see below for our upcoming events.
Combining her passions for drawing and ceramics, Tiffany Scull specialises in Sgraffito-decorated stoneware featuring stylised graphic representations of birds, insects, flowers and trees. She creates her intricate designs by tracing the outlines onto the clay, applying coloured slips and meticulously scratching away the slip between the drawings.
Using both wheel throwing and slab building techniques, ceramicist Margaret Gardiner produces richly textured pieces which are suitable for domestic use. Margaret's work is vapour-glazed, creating a beautiful lustrous effect. She is inspired by Victorian architecture, Greek pots and the sea.
